Genus Awarded City
of Clive Comprehensive Parks, Recreation &
Open Space Plan

Committed to providing
the community with high quality recreational
opportunities, the City of Clive has
retained Genus to perform a Comprehensive
Parks, Recreation & Open Space Planning
study. The objective of the study is
twofold: To establish a vision for Clive’s
parks and recreational programs, and to
provide a meaningful framework with clear
recommendations for future development of
the City’s parks and recreation resources.
The 9-mile Greenbelt Trail and Park is a
central component of this planning effort,
building upon Clive’s tagline “Distinct by
Nature”. The project will be completed by
Summer 2009.

earns LEED Accredited Professional
Certification

2008
Grant recently passed
the LEED (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) examination,
administered by the Green Building
Certification Institute. LEED Professional
Accreditation distinguishes individuals with
detailed knowledge of LEED certification
requirements and processes and a command of
integrated design principals.

Collaborations Recognized by the Iowa
Chapter ASLA Awards Program
gēnus was recently presented with
two design awards by the Iowa Chapter of the
American Society of Landscape Architects at
their Annual Spring Conference and Awards
Banquet on April 10, 2008. The Awards
Program recognizes excellence in landscape
architectural planning and design by
selecting outstanding projects relevant to
quality of design, function, safety,
environmental responsibility, and relevance
to the landscape architecture profession.

April 2008 Improvements to
Oppenstein Park
are
nearly complete and on April 18, an Opening
Celebration Event invited the public
to explore and enjoy the enhanced park.

collaborated with Kansas City artist Laura
DeAngelis and Davison Architecture +
Urban Design in the transformation of this
urban park, which was a competitive design
competition sponsored by Kansas City Art in
the Loop.
