Grant first joined the
gēnus
team as an intern and has now become an
Associate Landscape Architect. He is a
2007 graduate of Iowa State University
with degrees in landscape architecture
and horticulture. Passions for urban
design, historical interpretation, and
fine arts are Grant’s driving design
interests, which lead him to studies in
Rome, Italy and with a First Nations
group in northwestern Idaho. Wanting to
learn more about sustainable development
and incorporate it into his professional
work, Grant recently passed the LEED
exam and is now an Accredited
Professional.
A hobby interest in video and web-based communication turned professional when Grant developed a digital art tour for the University Museums at ISU. The project has been recognized at state and national levels with ASLA design awards in communication and Grant has been invited to speak at several symposiums about his work.
When not working, Grant enjoys the various art and music venues that have sprung up around Des Moines since he left for school. He also is an assistant-instructor in Tae Kwon Do.
